I caught
the last few points of Wimbledon and watched the post match interviews. It was
very refreshing to hear Roger Federer acknowledge Rafael Nadal and honor him as
a great player. No excuses. It was clear in the interview the respect they have
for each other. It was also clear that neither would be able to reach the same
height of achievement without the other. It certainly was a contrast to some of
the post race interviews at the Olympic Swimming and Track trials. A worthy opponent
is necessary to be a great champion. The essence of competition is to strive together
with not push against the opponent.

How about Dara Torres, at age 41 breaking records in the Olympic Trials?

The hammy strain that rocked the civilized world….Can’t wait to hear your thoughts that and the USATF trials in LV, Vern. Personally, I’m having fun living vicariously through my Division III hero, Nick Simmonds. That kid had some kind of kick the final 150m of his 800m.

I think that Tyson was pushing it too hard.
