Having worked with the Marines, I have had the pleasure of observing Majors, Colonels, and Generals make decisions in tough times. The one characteristic that spoke volumes to me is the way they remained level headed and did not get caught up in the panic and hectic behavior of those around them. They listened first then when they spoke used few words. The same approach I think is a good one whenever the latest fad comes out whether it is s&c or otherwise.
